Press Release: TinLink Project Update: Advancing Responsible Tin Supply Chains in Uganda & Rwanda

We are pleased to share that the TinLink Project Groups in Uganda and Rwanda have successfully finalized the due diligence (DD) process on targeted upstream suppliers. This milestone marks a significant step forward in ensuring transparent, responsible, and traceable tin supply chains.

Through established contacts and strengthened relationships with key upstream actors, the groundwork is now set for the next phase of the project’s implementation. By fostering direct engagement, TinLink continues to drive sustainable and ethical sourcing practices in the region.

On February 6, a ceremony was held at the Marriott Hotel in Kigali to award diplomas to students from the University of Rwanda. The event was honored by the presence of distinguished guests from:

  • RMB (Rwanda Mines, Petroleum and Gas Board)
  • Delegation of the European Union to Rwanda
  • Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Rwanda 
  • University of Rwanda 
  • RMA (Rwanda Mining Association) 
  • Upstream industry players
  • LuNa Smelter Management Board and Managing Director The official ceremony in Uganda is set to take place at the end of February – stay tuned for further details!
